Preparing for Your Supercar Hire Day: The Complete Checklist
2026-02-28
A practical pre-collection checklist covering documents, what to wear, route planning, and photography tips to make the most of your supercar hire day.
The night before your supercar hire can feel like Christmas Eve. To make sure the day runs perfectly, preparation is everything.
Gather Your Essential Documents
You will need your full UK driving licence, a form of photographic ID such as a passport, and your deposit confirmation or payment receipt. Missing documents can delay or prevent your collection.
Check Your Driving Licence Status
Verify your licence online via the DVLA Share Driving Licence service before the day. Hire companies may check your endorsement history.
Plan Your Route in Advance
Map out a route the evening before. The best supercar roads include the A272 through Sussex, the Snake Pass in the Peak District, and the A470 through Snowdonia. Download offline maps as a backup.
Dress for the Drive
Flat-soled driving shoes or thin-soled trainers give you the best pedal feel — avoid chunky boots or heels. Sunglasses are essential for low sun on British B-roads.
Prepare Your Phone and Tech
Bring a phone mount that will not mark the dashboard. Charge your phone fully and bring a cable. If you plan to record video, test your setup beforehand.
Understand the Fuel Policy
Most hires operate on a full-to-full fuel policy. Almost all supercars run on super unleaded (97+ RON). Locate fuel stations along your planned route — not every rural station stocks premium fuel.
Brief Your Passengers
Let them know how to open the door (some supercars have unconventional handles), where to put bags, and that seatbelts are mandatory at all times.
Schedule Time for Photography
Build photo stops into your route. Arrive at scenic spots during golden hour — the hour after sunrise or before sunset. Country house entrances and coastal viewpoints make outstanding backdrops.
Leave Early and Allow Buffer Time
Aim to arrive 10 minutes early at the collection point. It shows respect for the team's schedule and gives you a relaxed start.
