Continue through Dunsop Bridge and Slaidburn for a full Bowland loop of around 60 miles.
The River Lune runs south-east from Lancaster through a broad, beautiful valley — the A683 follows it through Kirkby Lonsdale and towards Sedbergh and the Dales. The road is fast, well-surfaced, and lined with stone walls and hedgerows, making it a superb mid-morning drive in a McLaren or Lamborghini.
