LuxuryCarHire.Club offers vintage and classic car hire in Winchester, Hampshire. Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, Bentley S-Series, Jaguar E-Type, and Aston Martin DB5 delivered to Winchester city centre, Lainston House, Hotel du Vin, and the Cathedral Quarter. Chauffeur-driven or self-drive from £795/day. Winchester's medieval architecture and the rolling Hampshire countryside provide a setting that belongs to another era entirely — and our vintage fleet matches it.
Our Winchester vintage collection includes the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III (from £995/day), Bentley S3 Continental (from £950/day), Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster (from £895/day), Aston Martin DB5 (from £1,400/day), Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III (from £795/day), and Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster (from £1,800/day). Each car is maintained to concours standard with full RAC breakdown cover and comprehensive insurance.
The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III in Shell Grey over Tudor Grey is our most requested Winchester vintage car for weddings. Winchester Cathedral, the Great Hall, the Close, and the College all share a visual language of medieval and Georgian stone that harmonises with the Silver Cloud's proportions in a way that modern vehicles simply cannot achieve. The car was designed in the same era as many of Winchester's finest buildings were last restored — and it shows in every photograph.
For touring hire, the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster in Opalescent Silver Blue is the natural choice. The B3047 through the Itchen Valley from Winchester to New Alresford — ten miles of chalk stream valley, thatched villages, and single-track lanes through water meadows — is one of the finest vintage driving routes in southern England. The E-Type's long bonnet catching dappled light through overhanging willows along the Itchen is an image that defines Hampshire motoring.
The Aston Martin DB5 suits Winchester's more refined character. Parked outside the Wykeham Arms on Kingsgate Street, or positioned on College Street with the Cathedral's south transept behind, the DB5 looks as though it has always been here. Self-drive available on the DB5, E-Type, and Austin-Healey for touring bookings; chauffeur-driven as standard for all wedding hire.
“"The Silver Cloud at the Cathedral — the chauffeur positioned us on the inner drive with the west front behind. Every photograph looks like a painting. The coordination with the verger was seamless."”
, — Elizabeth and James H., Winchester Cathedral Wedding
Winchester Cathedral is the longest medieval cathedral in Europe and the most popular wedding venue in Hampshire. The Cathedral Close — bounded by Kingsgate, the Deanery, and Pilgrim's Hall — provides the most photographed backdrop in the county. Our chauffeurs know the vehicle access points through the Close, the timing of services that restrict movement, and the precise positions on the inner drive that align a Silver Cloud or Bentley S3 with the Cathedral's west front. We coordinate with the Cathedral events office for every wedding booking, confirming access thirty minutes before the ceremony.

Lainston House (5-star, 63 acres, Sparsholt — 2 miles from the city centre) is Winchester's premier wedding and event venue. We deliver to Lainston House's sweeping gravel drive, positioning the vintage car against the William and Mary facade for arrival photographs. Hotel du Vin Winchester on Southgate Street, voco Winchester Hotel and Spa on Worthy Lane, Winchester Royal Hotel on St Peter Street, and Norton Park Hotel near Sutton Scotney are all within our standard delivery zone. No additional delivery charges within Winchester and surrounding Hampshire villages.

Winchester has no Clean Air Zone, congestion charge, or low-emission restrictions. All our vintage vehicles — including pre-1970 models — operate without restriction throughout the city and surrounding Hampshire roads. This is a genuine advantage over cities like Bath, Bristol, and Southampton, where vintage car hire involves navigating zone boundaries and exemption registrations. In Winchester, you simply drive.
The car arrives at your chosen address. Collected when you're finished. No queues, no counter.

Nothing more required.

Winchester Cathedral hosts over 100 weddings per year. A Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III arriving through the Close, positioned on the inner drive with the west front behind, is the established standard at this venue. Our chauffeurs coordinate timing with the verger, know the access restrictions during Evensong, and position the car for the photographs that every couple expects from a Cathedral wedding. Ribbon colour matched to your scheme.
Lainston House Events
Lainston House's 63-acre estate, avenue of lime trees, and William and Mary architecture provide a country house setting that suits vintage vehicles perfectly. The gravel drive approach, with the house framed by mature parkland, creates arrival photographs that define the occasion. We deliver to Lainston House regularly and know the estate's vehicle protocols.
Hampshire Touring Days
A full day in a Jaguar E-Type or Austin-Healey 3000: Winchester to Alresford via the Itchen Valley, lunch at The Watercress Line, across the South Downs to Petersfield, return via the Meon Valley. Seventy miles of Hampshire's finest roads with a vintage car that belongs on every one of them. Route guide and recommended stops provided.
Photography and Film
Winchester's medieval streetscape — College Street, Kingsgate, the Buttercross, St Giles Hill — provides period-authentic backdrops that require no set dressing. Production companies and photographers use Winchester because the visual clutter of modern Britain is largely absent from the city centre. A vintage car positioned here looks as though it has driven straight out of the era in which it was built.

“"A full day in the E-Type through the Itchen Valley and across the South Downs. The B3047 with the roof down, trout rising in the Itchen at Ovington, lunch at the Bush Inn. Hampshire at its absolute finest."”
Itchen Valley: B3047 to New Alresford (10 miles, 25 min)
The B3047 follows the River Itchen through Easton, Itchen Abbas, and Ovington to New Alresford. The Itchen is one of England's finest chalk streams — gin-clear water flowing through water meadows, with trout visible from the bridges at Itchen Abbas and the Watercress Line crossing at Alresford. The road is single-track in places, hedgerow-lined throughout, and perfectly suited to a Jaguar E-Type at 30mph with the roof down. Stop at The Bush Inn in Ovington — a thatched riverside pub with garden parking that accommodates classic cars comfortably.
A272 Across the South Downs (25 miles to Petersfield, 40 min)
East from Winchester through Cheesefoot Head — the natural amphitheatre where Eisenhower addressed troops before D-Day — along the chalk ridgeline through West Meon and East Meon to Petersfield. The road rises and falls over the Downs with long views across Hampshire. An Aston Martin DB5 on this road, with the afternoon sun low across the chalk grassland, produces driving and photography conditions that rival anything in the Cotswolds.
Winchester to Stockbridge via A272 West (9 miles, 15 min)
West along the A272 through Kings Worthy to Stockbridge — Hampshire's famous fly-fishing village on the River Test. The road crosses the Test at Stockbridge's single broad main street, lined with Georgian coaching inns and antique shops. A Bentley S3 Continental parked outside The Grosvenor Hotel in Stockbridge, with the Test flowing beneath the bridge behind, is a quintessentially English image.
Winchester to Southampton (12 miles, 20 min)
South along the A33 and M3 to Southampton, where Ocean Terminal and the historic docks provide a maritime backdrop. The journey passes through the Itchen Valley and Chandler's Ford — straightforward, well-surfaced, and quick. Southampton Airport (SOU) sits at the midpoint, 6 miles from Winchester city centre.
Airports: Southampton (SOU) — 6 miles south, 15 minutes. Heathrow (LHR) — 60 miles north-east, 70 minutes via M3. Classic car airport collection available at both.
The same arrangement, across 124 cities.
