Moel Famau (1,820 ft) is the highest point of the Clwydian Range AONB — 12 miles east of St Asaph via the B5381. The summit plateau and the moorland approach roads provide dramatic high-altitude open backdrops with 360° views spanning the Vale of Clwyd, the Dee Estuary, and, on clear days, Snowdonia and the Wirral. The narrow approach road and open heathland create some of the most compelling automotive images in North Wales.

Denbigh Castle & Vale of Clwyd

Denbigh Castle (9 miles south of St Asaph) sits on a hilltop commanding the Vale of Clwyd — its ruined towers provide an architectural backdrop unique in North Wales. The approach roads through the valley below, with the castle on the skyline and the Clwydian hills behind, create a layered landscape shot that no studio can replicate. A Ferrari 488 Spider or McLaren 720S on the hilltop approach road photographs extraordinarily well against the valley below.

Rhuddlan Castle & Coastal Approaches

Rhuddlan Castle — 4 miles north of St Asaph — sits above the River Clwyd with its moated diamond plan still largely intact. The riverside approach road and coastal marshland nearby provide dramatic wide-angle backdrops in soft early morning light. The North Wales coast road (A548) from Rhuddlan to Prestatyn offers seafront views with Snowdonia visible on the horizon — ideal for dramatic coastal photoshoot compositions.

Conwy Castle & Estuary

Conwy Castle (25 miles west on the A55) provides one of the UK's most dramatic architectural backdrops — eight towers, the medieval walled town, and the Conwy Estuary with Snowdonia beyond. The B5106 approach road south from Conwy along the river follows a sweeping valley with mountain views. Dawn shoots at Conwy, with the castle reflected in the estuary and a McLaren 720S on the quayside, are among our most requested North Wales sessions.
