V&A Dundee (DD1 4EZ) is Kengo Kuma's first UK building — a dramatic angular structure on the waterfront that has become one of Britain's most photographed buildings. The museum's exterior provides sharp, contemporary backdrops for modern supercar content. The adjacent Slessor Gardens event space offers controlled outdoor shooting with the V&A and Tay estuary as backdrop.
Dundee's new £9 million CoSTAR Realtime Lab at Water's Edge — opened February 2025 — provides a Hollywood-grade LED volume stage for CGI and virtual production. Supercars can be filmed against any virtual backdrop without leaving the studio. TayScreen (the regional screen office) coordinates location and crew services.
Glamis Castle (12 miles north) — one of Scotland's most recognisable castles — provides dramatic period and contemporary production settings. Broughty Castle (4 miles east) on the Tay shore offers waterfront fortress backdrops. Both are available for filming with appropriate permissions.
